Terms of Service

The short version

thefinal is a free football prediction game. You predict what will happen in real matches, those predictions resolve as the matches are played, and you gain or lose Score. Nothing costs money and nothing pays out.

• It is free, and it stays free to play.
• Score and Rating are game numbers. They are not money and cannot become money.
• One account per person. Play it yourself, not with a script.
• We are not affiliated with any league, club or competition.

Who can play

You must be 16 or older. You confirm this when you register, and that confirmation is a statement you are making to us — if it is untrue, we may close the account.

You are responsible for whether using thefinal is lawful where you live. We make it available worldwide; we cannot know every local rule, and we do not undertake to.

Your account

Keep your password to yourself; anything done through your account is treated as done by you. Tell us at [email protected] if you think someone else has access.

Your display name is shown to other signed-in players on leaderboards, alongside the short code of the club you follow — a name of foolproof following a club coded HAR is shown as HAR | foolproof. If you follow no club, only the name is shown. Choose a name that is not offensive, not impersonating someone (including a role such as “admin” or our own name), not advertising, and not an email address or other contact detail — the name is public, and we refuse one with an at sign in it. We may change or clear a display name that breaks this, and will tell you when we do: a name we replace becomes a neutral placeholder such as Player-7K2M9Q, the game asks you to pick your own, and that pick is not held to the usual once-every-30-days limit.

Fair play

A prediction game is only worth playing if the leaderboard means something. So:

• One account per person. Extra accounts to farm Score make the rankings meaningless.
• No automation. No bots, scripts or scrapers playing on your behalf or harvesting the site.
• No exploiting faults. If a bug hands you Score you did not earn, tell us instead of mining it. We will not punish you for reporting one.
• No interfering with the service — no attacks on it, no attempts to reach other players' accounts or data.

Where we find this has happened we may reset the affected Score, remove leaderboard entries, or close the account. We aim to warn first and act proportionately; a deliberate, repeated or automated breach may go straight to closure.

Score has no value

Score and Rating exist inside the game and nowhere else. They are not money, not credit, not property, and not convertible into anything. You cannot buy them, cash them out, transfer them to another player, or sell your account.

We may correct Scores when something has gone wrong — a mis-scored Prediction, a fault in resolution, a corrected match result from the data provider. Corrections apply to everyone affected in the same way, not selectively.

Not gambling, not official

thefinal is for entertainment, not gambling. There is no money in, no money out, and no prizes of value. You risk nothing and nothing is paid to you — the only thing you can gain or lose is your place on a leaderboard.

thefinal is unofficial and not affiliated with any league, club, competition or player. Club and competition names, their short codes and their colours are used only to identify real fixtures, as facts, and the crests, competition logos and player photographs shown beside them are used for the same purpose — to say whose match this is. They belong to their owners, not to us, and nothing here implies sponsorship or endorsement. See image rights & takedown.

Availability & changes

We aim to keep the game running and accurate, but it is provided free and as-is. It may be unavailable for maintenance, faults, or reasons outside our control — including a sports data provider being wrong or late, which we cannot prevent and do not underwrite.

We may change how the game works, including scoring and the prediction types offered. The current rules are always published at thefinal.io/rules. Changes normally apply going forward, not retroactively to Predictions already resolved.

thefinal is in early access — the Alpha badge in the header says so. While it is, the game model is still moving, and we may reset Score, Rating and the leaderboards, for everyone at the same time. We will say so in advance when we do. Nothing of value is lost when we do: these are game numbers, and they were never money or property.

Intellectual property

The site, the game, its design and its code belong to True Growth OÜ. You may use them to play; you may not copy, resell or build a competing product from them, and you may not scrape the site.

Match facts — fixtures, scores, goalscorers — are facts, and we claim nothing over them. The names of clubs and competitions belong to their owners and are used descriptively, as are their short codes and colours.

We also display club crests, competition logos and player photographs, supplied through our football data provider and served from our own domain. Those images are the trade marks, copyright works or other rights of their owners; we claim nothing over them, we do not hold a licence from each owner, and we are not asserting one. We remove any of them on request, individually and quickly — see image rights & takedown, which also says what to do if you are a player and would rather your photograph were not here.

Where we show an example match to illustrate how the game works, the play shown on it — the predictions, the points, the rank — is made up. Nobody played that card. The match itself is either invented or a real fixture that has already been played; where it is real, the score and the events are that game's public facts and we claim nothing over them. Either way it does not mean any club, league or player is connected with us or approves of us.

Liability

thefinal is supplied free of charge and without warranty of any kind. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that every Prediction will be resolved correctly and instantly.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost Score or Rating, or for decisions you take based on anything shown here. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or any right you have as a consumer under the law of your own country.

Ending it

You can stop at any time. To delete your account and its data, email [email protected] from the address on the account; we complete it within 30 days, as described in the Privacy Policy.

We may close an account that breaks these terms, or one dormant for 24 months. Where the reason is a breach we will tell you what it was, and you can reply — we would rather fix a misunderstanding than lose a player to one.

Law & disputes

These terms are governed by the law of Estonia, and disputes go to the Estonian courts. If you are a consumer, this does not take away the protection of the mandatory law of the country you live in, nor your right to bring a claim there.

Start with an email — [email protected]. Nearly everything is faster to fix that way.

When we change these terms we bump the version above. Minor changes take effect when published; substantive ones — changes to what you may do, what we may do, or your rights — are shown to you and asked for again before they apply to you.
